Standardized Child Passenger Safety Training Program
T he Standardized Child Passenger Safety Training Program is 32 hours over four days. This class is for individuals aspiring to become technically competent to participate in or conduct child safety seat clinics.
This technical course is taught with role playing and extensive hands-on practice with both child safety seats and vehicle belt systems. A hands-on and written test, as well as participation in a child passenger safety clinic are required for successful completion.
Satisfactory completion of this course meets the criteria for child passenger safety technician certification through the National SAFE KIDS Campaign. Those wishing to become certified as technician instructors, and teach the course to others, must hold technician status for one year and meet instructor experience criteria.
Individuals who obtain cert ification should be willing to have their name and contact information placed in our database, and to serve as a child passenger safety resource for their organization or community.
